New Layout

Look!  I finally got rid of the default WordPress layout, and, even better, I custom-designed my own!  It’s very simple, but I’m quite happy with it.  I still need to work a bit on the “Gallery” and “Links” pages, there are a few things I should change on the comments page, and I’m sure I’ll encounter a few bugs, but other than that, I’m proud of it.

Oh, also, I’m pretty sure this looks terrible in any non-widescreen resolution. I like it in my 1280×800 resolution, but I just tested it out in 1024×768, and the image either gets cut off or overlays the text.  That shouldn’t be too difficult to fix, though.  I’ll wait to do it until tomorrow since I figure no one will be reading this in the next day.

So now it’s almost 3am, my battery is almost out (I could always plug it in, but that would require moving), and I’ve now watched about five million episodes of Golden Girls while I’ve been designing this.  I’m totally on a web design/HTML/Photoshop high now, but I have to get up early tomorrow to go to the Pasadena Police Department for my certification of absence of police records, as required for my visa, so I really ought to go to bed.  Ugh, I’m going to be exhausted tomorrow, but at least I now have a pretty new layout!
