Christmas in Madrid
It’s Christmas time in Spain once again. The city is filled with lights, my students have been devoting their days to making holiday crafts and learning Christmas carols, and I was eagerly counting down the days until I return home for the holidays (I’m here!).
The Christmas spirit in Madrid may not make me feel quite as warm and fuzzy as what I’m used to in the States, but Christmas in Spain, like Christmas everywhere, is the most wonderful time of the year, and Madrid is looking pretty spectacular these days. The city offers a pretty neat Navibus, which, for €2, takes you on a tour of many of Madrid’s lights, though the line was insane when we arrived, so instead we saw the lights by foot on an unusually warm night. Here are a few of my favorite shots I took while wandering the decked-out city.
¡Feliz navidad a todos!
Ohh, I missed the Chueca-approved lights on my paseo the other evening. Felices fiesta, maja!!
A ti también!
Beautiful! I’m planning to visit my cousin in Madrid next month, I guess I might be too late for these lights but it looks like the city is really beautiful on its own anyway 🙂 Feliz navidad!
The Christmas lights will be gone, but the buildings are lit-up beautifully at night year-round. I hope you end up loving Madrid as much as I do!
i love visiting blogs around this time and reading about Christmas in different places. Love this
I love seeing how the holidays are celebrated around the world as well!
Beautiful! They are so unusual! I’d love to see them, Thank you for printing them!
Thanks, Gammy! You mentioned the other day that commenting doesn’t work on your computer — is it working now? Love you!
